Intensity & Relief

Group show at Creative Rez

Lisbon, 3–14 July 2026

Curated by Joshua Strydom

Nine artists gathered around one idea: intensity and relief as a single cycle, seen from different moments. The uncertainty of arriving somewhere new and the slow build of belonging, grief held next to love, confusion followed by clarity.

Bianca presented a series of mixed media works on cotton paper, among them Jornada, Movement, Viagem and Place to Place, and a larger work, Rainbow Particles.

“The exhibition theme, ‘Intensity & Relief,’ met me at the most appropriate time, when I found myself wrestling with density and hierarchy in my compositions. All the patterns we see across nature (from the streaks in a shell to the interconnectedness of a cosmic web) temper with these relationships and hierarchy.

The five works I’m showing at this exhibition stem from a place of genuine curiosity: about the world down to a cellular level, to a macro perspective of the universe, through biology and cosmology, but through a playful, experimental, and free approach.”

With Anna Lubbinge, Bianca Castro, Bree Chapin, Ike Ferreira, Joshua Strydom, Quandus, Sam Einstein, Ville Mehtonen and Yana Strunina.
